Pitt Meadows Airport (IATA: YPK, ICAO: CYPK) is a Canadian general aviation airport located in the southwest corner of Pitt Meadows, British Columbia.  In 2008, it was the 17th busiest airport in Canada with 120,098 aircraft movements, an increase of 11.2% from 2007 when it had 108,040 movements.

By 1972-1973, Pitt Meadows was the busiest airport in Canada with over 250,000 aircraft movements annually.

In January 1998, the districts of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows jointly took custody from the federal government under the auspices of the Pitt Meadows Airport Society.

The control tower at Pitt Meadows Airport operates from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. 365 days per year.

In addition to increased apron space, hangars and other buildings, by 2010 runway 08R/26L is expected to be expanded to 5,740 feet (1,750 m) long and 150 feet (46 m) wide, allowing for regional turboprop and jet service, as well as additional taxiways and an end-of-runway turnaround on 08R/26L.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS:

All pilot training in Canada ultimately achieves the same license and related privellges for the student regardelss of the school they join or the country the student came from.  Some students prefer the mega school atmosphere and are willing to pay extra for that satisfaction.  Students or parents who worked hard to save enough for career education shall focus on getting best value for their money.  One must  take into consideration that many soft expenses such as accommodation, transportation, meals, laundry, internet, fuel surcharge, briefings, test preprations, sign out fee for each flight..etc. most often may not be included in quotes by many schools.  Therefore, don't be shocked when the end cost at many other schools results in thousands of extra dollars.  Similarly, there are many countries offering licenses at compromized cost for inferior education which may not be of value when applying for jobs with airlines. Just
be careful and ask these questions before you join any school, Canada or elsewhere!   We Guarantee in writing all what we advertise.  Hope to see you realize the value we offer as we Gurantee our prices and the Quality of Training!!
